Call receipt v1

What a Telephonist call receipt says.

Every call our AI makes on someone’s behalf carries a signed receipt. Every call comes with proof.

ai
Always true: an AI placed the call. It says so at the start of every call.
accountable_party
Benaiah AI Ltd (company 17403584, England and Wales) answers for the call.
assurance.level
L0: an account known to us. L1: a paying customer. L2: a unique person verified with World ID. L3: both. L4: verified with a confirmed identity, from a passport through the Telephonist ID app or a digital ID (opt-in; the business still sees no name). On telephonist.ai these are shown as two levels, Proof of Payment (L1) and Proof of Human (L2–L4); at L4 a call can also confirm the name given. L0 carries neither. A level describes the account that approved the call; it does not prove who spoke.
mandate
When the customer approved the call, through which channel, its purpose (booking, enquiry, change or cancellation, other), its limits, and that our AI can’t pay, sign contracts or share credentials. brief_commitment is a hash of the exact approved brief; the brief itself is never published.
caller_name_status
self_declared: the name our AI gave is the customer’s own and unverified. verified: it matches the caller’s confirmed identity (opt-in), shown as name confirmed. withheld: no name was given.
acct
A pseudonym for the accountable person that is stable for your number only. It lets you recognise repeat callers to your line; nobody can use it to follow that person to other businesses.
status
A two-bit entry in our signed status list (IETF Token Status List): 0 valid, 1 revoked (we have acted on the caller), 2 suspended (a report is under review).
Check one

People: enter the reference and the number we called at telephonist.ai/check.

Machines: POST /api/trust/receipts/lookup with {"reference","number"}. The receipt is an SD-JWT VC (typ dc+sd-jwt, EdDSA) signed with the keys at /.well-known/jwks.json; issuer metadata is at /.well-known/jwt-vc-issuer.

Who can see who the caller is

No business sees the caller’s identity unless the caller chooses to share it. We disclose it only to police, courts, regulators or our payment processor with a lawful basis, and every request is logged.

Every call comes with proof. Privacy
